‎"Life is like a box of chocolate you never know what you're going to get."

What does this phrase mean?

This is what I understand: When somobody gives you a box of chocolates, you never know which kind of chocolates they are going to be, you can not predict what chocolates you are going to get. And the metaphor with life lies in this unpredictability, you don't know what fate has in store for you. You can't knoe what is going to happen (till it happens, of course)

In a box of (filled) chocolates (maybe called "bonbons" in some places?) there are lots of different fillings (caramels, cremes, nuts, jellies, coconut, etc.) but until you bite into the chocolate you don't know what kind you have selected.

(I've always thought this was a terrible simile -- if you really care what you're going to get, you can cut the piece in half first, which is usuall

well, I like a variation on this phrase by Stewie Griffin from Family Guy... it goes like this:

Well, you know mother, life is lika a box of chocolates but in your case it's rather a box of active granades!

This quote means that Life is full of surprises. You can't tell what is going to happen tomorrow -- if you have to do an explanatory prompt.. you're not the only one.

This is what i have explored. But I didn't get the last two lines. Please, check if it is correct or not.
