Life defining answer

Would a life defining answer be considered correct? I would've used life changing answer, but I find it a bit overused. Thank you.

" You are right. A "life-changing" answer is overused, and there is a subtle difference in meaning between the two. "Life-defining" means that the answer gives (or gave) definition, meaning to your life.

I see no problem with a "life-defining answer." You are right. A "life-changing" answer is overused, and there is a subtle difference in meaning between the two. "Life-defining" means that the answer gives (or gave) definition, meaning to your life. "Life-changing" means that the answer changed your life. I really do prefer "ife-defining."

So basicaly they are completely different? One answer gives the meaning to life and the other actually changes it. Thank you for your help.
