Life comes a full circle, exorcise the ghost of

Life comes a full circle for England as they defeat a great team like Australia and exorcise the ghost of 1987, where England lost the Reliance World Cup by 7 runs. This trophy will be the ultimate cure for so many years of Australian pain. Well done, Colly and England. They deserve this moment in the sun. This tournament has been great fun right from the start. It has been great pleasure to cover this tournament. However, the game moves on as SL play NZ in the USA for two T20 Internationals. The South Africans also play a couple of T20 Internationals against the West Indies. We will bring you all the action as and when it happens. Until then, this is Sid V, signing off with my colleagues Srivathsa and Mayank. Good night and Congrats to the Poms!

Please explain to me the emboldened parts.

Though I guess "exorcise the ghost of" means "forget the painful loss of 1987".

A "full circle" in this case means a complete turn of emotions.

Exorcise means literally to drive out an evil spirit. Metaphorically, the England cricket team has rid themselves of a painful memory that has caused distress for 33 years. Quite a match, by the way.
