Hi, teachers.

Here follows the fourth question:

At the meeting place of the Yangtze River and the _______, one of the ten largest cities in .

A lies Chongqing B Chongqing lies C does lie Chongqing D does lie

A is the answer. Can we say C to emphasize it ?

Would you please some usage about such inverted expressions?

I, too, am confused why none of the inverted versions are acceptable, for, say, literary effect.

It's inversion PLUS emphatic 'do' that doesn't work. Why be confused? This is the language.
