hi.I am the student of M.A working on my thesis.please help me.I have a question.in the sentence It is possible to do research on it.what is the fuction of" it is possible to"?what can we call it?i need to know this part of the sentence because I have to analyze it and compare this part of the sentence with target text equivalent.

I checked my Quirk and Greenbaum (student edition pp 417-418) reference book.

Assuming that I'm correct, it is possible to is called the postponed subject.

It / is / possible to do research on it. --> SVC pattern
