Level of attitudes

Hello!
Can you please help me with several questions:
1) Is it OK to use the word examinees here?
2) retain or keep?
3)Can I use 'on the level of attitudes' here like this?
Thank you.

Firstly, the examinees from multiethnic areas in which the peace was retained/kept („peace areas") during conflicts in 1990's will show, on the level of attitudes, higher degree of general openness towards the members of other ethnic grouops than the examinees from the „conflict areas".
