Letter writing

hello ,
In letter writing, why must we put best regards at the end of the letter?I want to know the real purposeof this.Is thanking you not enough

Best regards, Sincerely yours, Yours faithfully , etc are called complimentary closings and are an integral part of a formal letter format. If you wish to thank someone, do it with a sentence at the end of the body of the letter.
