Letter to Traffic Court

Hi:

I need to send a letter to a district taffic court in response to a summons. I wish to ask the court to please consider my taking a Driver safety course in lew of conviction for a speeding offense. Any help in how to address the court (or Judge) as well as how to phrase this request will be greatly appreciated. Thank You
