To the Editor

I am writing to express my strong disagreement with the detrimental views on the combined English course and adventure holiday in the United Kingdom presented in the letter that was published in the latest issue of your newspaper. Having participated in this trip myself, and considering it to have been an extraordinary experience, I was appaled to read that someone felt like having to complain about it.

While I agree that the hotel was far from rising up to the standards of a luxurious resort, it was extremely neat and it had all the facilities that one would need. And by no means did I find it inconvenient not to have the possibility to eat at the hotel, rather a great advantage, as this forced us to go and have our meals at different restaurants, giving us the opportunity to interact with the local people and talk to them in their native language. Afterall, was not this the reason for our trip - to practise our English?

Contrary to the letter's claims, the English course was an indisputable success, the positive and relaxed attitude of the teachers having contributed greatly to creating an incredible atmosphere, which allowed easy and rapid learning to happen. Furthermore, with regard to the adventure sports, the letter's author is completely mistaken, the holiday company having offered a wide range of activities, both outdoor and indoor, of which he must have not been aware.

I hope that you will consider publishing my letter with the next issue of your newspaper, as I feel that this very enjoyable and highly beneficial programme deserves a much better review than the previous one.
