Letter to the Dean of Graduate Studies

I have been recently granted admission to the MAcc program. I would like to write an email to the Dean of Graduate Studies to request any available assistanships.

Here is my sample:

Dear Dr. XYZ

My name is .... , and I am an international student who graduated last december from .... University with a BBA/Accounting. I recently have been granted admission to the MAcc program at ....university for Fall 2011.

I would like to know if there is any available assistantship that I may qualify to. I have tutoring experience in subjects such as Accounting, Finance, and Business statistics for over 3 years which improve my communication skills. In addition, I have a great experience in data analysis software such as SPSS and LISREL. I have published a business research paper last April at the Journal of....... (Link to the paper).

I thank you in advance for your help, and I look forward to hearing from you regarding this matter.

Sincerely,

FK

Hi If your worried about the format of your letter, everything is fine except that you have to add a subject to the letter after you address your recepient: Sub: Regarding admission into your college and assistantship If your worried about the content's grammar level, there arent many mistakes. Here are what i found to be the required corrections. I have underlined and italxed them: Dear Dr.
