I wonder If the letter as written beneath is a proper one in terms of politeness and gramatical structure. As English is not my mothertongue I am not really sure if it is. The words in grey are names that I took out of the letter to anonimyse. Could anyone please have a quick look? Thank you in advance.
---- Dear Dr Someone...,
I've red your article "Some article" as published in the Journal of Something with great interest.
As a geology student at the university of somewhere, The Netherlands, I'm writing a literature study on modeling something. More specifically I'm planning to determine if this and that can be incorporated in the whatever model.
In order to gain more insight in the structure of the whatever model I've been looking for an article which you co-authored "Some other article" which was published in A book. Regrettably there is no copy of this article in our university library nor do I have electronic access to it. I was hoping you could send me a copy of the article.
I'd like to know as well if the model program itself and/or the specific module is publicly available. Having these would facilitate me to look at its structure and the possibility to implement a my own module. I'd be very grateful to receive the information requested. Of course I'll send back the result if I finished the project.
Yours Sincerely,

Not bad at all. You just need to tidy up the end a little bit. Also, how are you expecting to receive the article?

If by post, it would be polite to enclose a stamped addressed envelope and mention this in the letter.
