Letter regarding outstading balance of the august's payment

Hi everyone. I'm working at a tuition center. I need to give my employer a letter about the outstanding balance of my August's payment so that the balance will be added to my September's payment. The outstanding balance is $ 50. I've talked to one of the assistant manager, Mr. Joseph and he asked me not to accept the cheque if the amount is not as supposed. Is this the right way for me to remind my employer?thanx in advanced for your help=)

Dear Sir,
Reminder about the outstanding balance of the August's payment

Total class conducted on September : 9
Total payment: $ 540.00
Outstanding balance from month, August : $50.00
Grand total: $ 590.00
The tuition centre has agreed to settle the remaining balance by the next payment's date, which will be at the beginning of October 2009. Mr. Joseph has informed me not to accept the cheque if the amount stated in it is not as mentioned above. I also enclosed a copy of cheque that I received last month and record of classes conducted last month for your reference.
Thank you for your attention

yours sincirely,
sherry jimmy
