letter on behalf of someone

Hello,
I have a question regarding letter writing. I was asked to write a letter on behalf of my boss. My question is, do I type p.p. and my name above my boss' name, if he is actually going to sign it or do I only do that if I am going to sign it? If he is going to sign it, do I include my name at all?
Thank you.
