Letter Writing

Letter of recommendation for English proficiency

Hey there,

I have to write a letter of recommendation for my English skills for an exchange period abroad, which my professor will sign afterwards. I have written the letter but if someone could just quickly read it through and correct any mistakes or weird sentences that would be really helpful!

Thanks in advance!

To whom it may concern,

I hereby certify that ... , student in the master‘s program Fremdsprachenlinguistik (Foreign Language Linguistics) at the University of Potsdam, possesses sufficient proficiency in English.

The students in this program are regularly required to deal with English literature and therefore be in contact with the language on a regular basis. Ms. Savonmäki also uses English actively in her work as a part-time hostel receptionist in Berlin. Already prior to studying at the University of Potsdam Ms. Savonmäki has used English extensively in her prior studies and in her work activities. Many courses in her studies so far have required advanced English skills and she has finished these courses with very good marks.

I can therefore confirm that Ms. Savonmäki possesses the required English language skills for this exchange period. Should you have any further questions, please contact me at hassler@?uni-potsdam.de.

Yours faithfully,

Prof. Dr. ...
