Letter of motivation (to singapore) pretty complex..need help!
I worked really hard and quite long for this letter…but still I’m not sure If there are any serious mistakes in it!!?? Can someone please “quickly” check it..? Your help is highly appreciated!! Thanks.
No education is complete without experience, a wise man once said. This is precisely the reason which encouraged me to write you this letter. With greatest interest I’ve read the publication on the FHS-homepage regarding the annual Bilateral Youth Exchange Programme – . This must be, indeed, a truly unique experience!
At the outset, I would like to mention concisely a little bit about me. I am a full time student at the . Currently, I’m studying Business Administration in the 2nd Semester. Besides my studies, I am also working part time as Junior-Consultant for a Global Executive Search Firm, where I have the chance to gain some experiences on-the-job.
Already as a young boy, I was fascinated by foreign and unknown countries. And today, I am even more! Therefore, I would be keen on learning something about the Singaporean culture, their habits, their way of life, and especially about the Student’s Life! On one hand I’m quite sure that there are a lot of varieties such as the educational system or the tuition fees, but on the other I am sure that we also have a lot in common. I am eager to figure it out and to discuss it with my counterparts form !
Although I really enjoy my studies to the fullest, I am well aware of the fact that school alone cannot teach everything. The experience a student can attain from such an exchange programme is something you can’t read from a book. I honestly believe that it is nowadays essential to have a cross-cultural comprehension. With all the uncertainty and changes in politics, economic and religion we face today, I believe that particularly younger people should have a solid understanding of the world we live in. Hence, I think that to meet and discuss with Singaporean leaders would not only be a beneficial, but also a greatly enriching experience.Furthermore, I have heard from a friend of mine, XXXXXX, who was given the privilege to take part at the exchange in 2004, that after her journey to , she was visited by students form at her home. She told me about the engrossing time she spent with them. From my point of view, it would be a great pleasure to accompany and host two foreign students and to show them, that has much more to over than Fondue and Chocolate!
In light of the above mentioned facts, I think that I would be an adequate candidate for this exchange programme. It is my considered opinion that this experience would be a conducive addition to my current education and that it would help me in establishing a global perspective.
If you would accept my candidature and thus give me the chance of a lifetime, I would be highly grateful.
Yours sincerely,
