Letter of Motivation for Volounteer in U.S.

Hello, I want to work as a volounteer in the US and wrote a letter of motivation. Can somebody read it and mark mistakes? Thank you so much in advance! Do you think this is long enough?

Dear Sir or Madam,

my name is Daniel ... and I’m a student and entrepreneur from Germany. I am going to finish school in the End of June 2009 and will then be able to work for you as a volunteer. With this letter I would like to apply for participation in your program. Most of my spare time I spend working on the internet business that I run but besides that I make a lot of sports (running, soccer and working out in the gym) and try to meet my friends as often as possible.

Since I run my own business and have worked several times for different companies during the holidays I know how to work on my own, take responsibility and respect supervisor. From the experience that I made in playing more than 8 years in a soccer club it is absolutely no problem for me to work in a group or to solve conflict situations inside a group. Another ability that speaks for me is that I can get easy in touch with new people, especially in this situation it can be an advantage. I can adjust easily to fit into any work environment and have no problem working as part of a team. I can also function individually by taking the initiative and the responsibility to accomplish tasks on my own.

To be honest good spoken American English is like music in my ears but since there is no better place to learn that than the United States. There are so many advantages: I can improve my language while getting to know new people and doing something good for the beautiful nature in one of the national parks.

Since I was a child I have always been impressed by the American way of life / the culture. When my father made a trip to some of the national parks 3 years ago I decided that I also wanted to go there, but not just for a few weeks but as long as possible. That’s when I found this volunteer program. Then I gathered as much information about that as I could and also asked my agency for some photos, thought 2 weeks about it and finally applied. I think there is really no chance that I somehow do not like it, because there are so many things that I love.

As I said before there is the language besides that I am crazy about American music. Not only R&B and Hip Hop as you might guess, also pop.

In the weeks I work there I want to get to know the real American. Even thought everybody tells how great it is everybody has made a different experience. I also want to make the obligatory civilian service abroad preferred in North America. Therefore I can say your program is a big chance for me that might affect my further life.

I think that to participate in volunteer work, in a project like this, is the best way to do something that really fits to me. I feel the need to grow as a person, enriching my culture, language and learning from people that are working. Moreover, the opportunity of an _NAME OF THE ORG_ project in the United States will provide me with a huge opportunity of having international exposure and multicultural perspective.

Yours sincerely
