Letter of Motivation for a Master degree

Hi everyone, I've red several topics about letters of motivation for the university and all of them had consistent improvements in the end.

So I ask for advice on my personal letter of motivation since I am going to postulate for a MA in International Security.
Please help me and don't be afraid of being harsh.
Also I apologize about any mistake you will find since I'm not an English native-speaker and all I learned it was from books and movies.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I wish to apply for the Master in International Relations with specialization in International Security at the University of Groningen since I am seeking exactly the professionalizing formation that is offered by your university. My goal is to achieve significant competence in the field of International Security, focusing on transnational crime, in order to prepare for a career in the national and international law enforcement bodies.

Presently I have completed a double bachelor degree in Political Sciences and History at the Université Paris1 Panthéon-Sorbonne with a good academic record. The degrees obtained are a “Licence en Science Politique” and a “Licence en Histoire”, which translates into two 180 credits Bachelor degrees, in Political Sciences and History. I am particularly proud of this achievements having followed university both in English and French, reaching a complete mastership o both languages.

I feel very comfortable working in a multicultural and multilingual environment not only because of my three-years experience as a foreign student in France but also thanks to a consistent curriculum of team work and volunteering experience in non profit organizations in six different international projects between 2006 and 2011.

Furthermore, working as assistant to the Chief Director of the Financial Times in Rome, Mr Guy Dinmore, has given me a considerable knowhow and experience in dealing with fast pacing and urgent goals.

During the last year in Paris I have worked to finance my studies; this has given me the opportunity to value and manage time in order to meet more than one goal such as succeeding examinations and facing problems of earning a living.

As a high school student I have participated twice, in 2007 and 2009, at the Rome International Model United Nations (RIMUN), a simulation of the UN work in which students participate as delegates from member states. Through this first experiences I learned to dwell in different situations and to focus on developing communication skills such as clarity, precision and capacity of synthesis through constant oral exercises, presentations and debates.

Finally I would like to put the emphasis on my degree in History, which provided training for in-depth and critical analysis on all kind of documents since source analysis is the core element of that discipline.

Therefore, I believe completing a Master at your university would be a great opportunity to improve my academic skills in the field of International Relations and Security and to approach the labour market with appropriate training.
