Letter of Motivation- Could you review it? Pleeeease
0 Hello, 02br 00I have to send a motivation letter as a part of the application for a Master´s program. 02br 02br 00I am not too sure about the letter, which cvan be found below. This application is really really important to me and I was wondering if someone could please take some spare time and review the letter and give me some hints on if the whole structure and the grammar is ok. I think my letter sounds more like an application for something like a Master´s of Story Writing rather than for a a Masters of Science.... 02br 02br 02br 00Dear Madam/ Sir, 02br 02br 00I am writing this letter to apply for admission for the *** program at the ***. 02br 02br 00When I was little my grandfather used to take me for walks into the forests and told me a lot about the different animals and plants. Later on, when I was 5 I wanted to become a veterinary. My mother was not too happy about all the animals that I carried from the backyard into the house. Other than my sisters, I loved watching documentaries, especially those about the deep sea and national parks in Africa. In the school holidays my parents and grandparents took us on trips to other countries. I was excited to get to know different cultures and landscapes, and loved the coastal areas with a passion. I was enormously fascinated by the power of the waves and the wind and the animals that you can find along the beaches. Later on, biology became my favourite and one of my main subjects that I specialised in at high school. When I decided to study marine biology, I was already involved in conservation work. I signed petitions and wrote emails to authorities via the WWF, which I have continued to do until today. In my freetime I read a lot about the Great Barrier Reef and the Great Barrier Reef Campaign, which is run by the WWF. After high school I applied for admission to a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology at the *** University in Australia. I got accepted, packed my suitcase and left my home country Germany. From then on I learnt about marine biology at the university, and especially enjoyed lectures on marine and coastal zone management and conservation policies. Throughout my degree I volunteered for the parasitology department of the *** museum and the saltwater aquarium systems of the ***. 02br 02br 00To be specific, my future goal is to get a job in a management position in international marine conservation work, either in a marine protected area or in an NGO. For a career like this I know I need to build upon my marine biology skills with further studies, preferably at a university with an international direction and where the courses are held in English. I am applying for the *** program at the *** University as it is is the one and only program in Germany where I can gain in-depth knowledge of ecological processes in marine ecosystems, with a focus on tropical marine ecology and in the applications of environmental management. And of course, this degree is very appealing to me as the university is renown world-wide and has a very good reputation in the field of Marine Studies. 02br 02br 00While I was studying in Australia I have acquired good academic communication skills in English. By extracurricular activities, university field trips and research projects I have got a good insight into the work of marine biologists. Morevover, I have experienced living in a muliticultural environment and communicated and worked with people from different cultural backgrounds. 02br 02br 00I’d like the opportunity to demonstrate that I have the necessary qualities for the *** degree. I am looking forward to hearing from you in the near future, 02br 02br 00Yours faithfully, 0-
