Letter of motivation
Hello, I have to write a letter of motivation and I would like to ask for your help to give me some recommendations and maybe to correct some mistakes. (it is for an yet unknown place, that is why I did not write down any specific destinations)
My name ____ and I am an open minded 18 year old student and I would like to take part in the internship program. I am always keen on seeing new things as well as diving into the unknown. Furthermore, I am an independent person. Besides my mother tongue German I speak fluently English and French, whose knowledge I acquired during my eight years of grammar school. Since my first year there, I wanted to use my knowledge of languages, and English in particular, in my professional life, which as well, will mean going abroad for a yet unknown period of time. In addition I love travelling as well as learning more about different cultures in my leisure time.
The prospects of improving my languages skills appealed to me in the first place, since they play a major role in today’s life. Here, I could combine my passion for different cultures with my compulsion for learning new skills as well as expanding my language skills in a different surrounding by translating various documents or by simply being abroad. Moreover, I especially expect from an internship at your department an improvement of my personal abilities, since such an internship involves an immense amount of self-sufficiency. This would be as well a period of time during which I can enhance myself as a person through the challenges that are involved on the one hand and through the new things that one can see on the other hand. I hope that I am able to gain a deeper insight for the work that is carried out at your department through this experience. This will most certainly be of use in my future professional life.
I could picture my future work life fairly well in Europe to help promoting trans-European cooperation.
I would welcome the opportunity to meet you and give a further explanation on my motivation.
