I am new in this forum. Last few days I am trying to write a motivation letter for getting admitted in an university.

It will be a great pleasure if anyone give me proper suggestion on my motivation letter.

Dear Sir,

I am writing to apply for the Master’s Program in ***.

As a citizen of Bangladesh I had been born and brought up here. I completed my Bachelor Degree and Post Graduation on Physics from a renowned university, *** University of Science and Technology.

I have always tried to upgrade my knowledge through additional program in different discipline. And for that purpose I had gone through another Master’s program on Social Welfare with specialization in Victimology and Restorative Justice from ***.

From the very student life, I have a strong knack in writing and wish to aware people in different social issues. Driven by that interest, after completing my post graduation on Physics, I had joined at the first online newspaper in Bangladesh, where I spent about 10 years and now serve as an analyst.

Besides, my corporate life, I continued a close connection in program and activities of several development agencies as consultant and voluntary. These organizations are work for sustainable development program and campaign, in very rural areas.

During my study period I have developed my knowledge and skills regarding physics and its applications. The courses that offered by the university provided us a broad knowledge in different fields of physics, mathematics, chemistry and modern technology, from both theoretical and experimental point of view.

And from Social Welfare I learned to know social paradigm, research method and different issues involved in a society.

You know, Bangladesh is trying to get into middle income country for several decades, maintaining 6%+ GDP growth. Policy makers are very much eager in maintaining and increasing this rate. With that fast pace of development, lots of socio environmental effects are being unnoticed, as for example, light pollution, thermal pollution, visual pollution.

Personally I have a kin interest to work for reducing pollution and restoration of natural environments including ‘water and air pollution’ that we, the people of the capital city of Bangladesh facing every day. ‘Intensive farming’ is another issue which is the cause of unregulated uses of chemicals for pesticides and fertilizer, disrupting the chemical balance of soil and water.

Meanwhile, uncontrolled industrialization of farming is making permanent damage to the ecology.

In addition, Bangladesh government of this thriving economy, is building mega power (coal/nuclear) projects in private public partnership models, to facilitates its growing industries. But private partners are less interested in maintaining ecology.

The opportunities to work as an analyst open-up the path to walk through the different issues in society of Bangladesh. That made me familiar with enormous quantity of social phenomenon that affect our personal and social life.

On the other hand, being a graduate of physics I have been blessed the capacity to analyze these events from a physicist perspective. The knowledge of social welfare also could be a catalyst to evaluate man maid pollution in a society.

Along with this, experiences gain from different development agencies, I get acknowledged that, these sectors of the environmental issues had been ignored in our development activities and a lot of work needed to be done to address these issues.

For your kind information, Bangladesh is an overly populated country, pollution outburst with much more intense severity. Lifestyle and social tradition is also different here. Education rate is not up to the mark.

So, handling ‘pollution problem’ is much more difficult here.

With further more education in Environmental Engineering, I will be able to enrich my career in environmental sector and make plan and design for reduce pollution using pollution prevention methods, water and wastewater treatment, and waste technology. It will maximize my knowledge to understand the latest theories of environmental engineering technology combined with strong real world experience.

As I aware of the excellence of University of *** in Environmental Engineering, I am confident that this Master’s Program will help me to achieve my goal. I have chosen this University as my top choice because of scholarly resources and reputation of the highly qualified education.

With my educational background and experience, make me confident that I am suitable candidate for the program.
