With the career ambition to work as a researcher in the field of nanotechnology to help benefit mankind through my research, I would like to introduce myself as an appropriate candidate for the Elite Master’s Programme in [Name].

After my vocational training, I decided as a self-motivating and ambitious person to start an academic career by studying Physical Engineering (B.Sc.) Sc.), specializing in process technology at the University of Applied Sciences [Name]. I will graduate in June 2015 with an average grade 1.2, and a double degree in Physics (B.Sc. hons) from the [Name], England.

I realised my aspiration to work as a professional scientist during my inspiring internship at the [Name]. My curiosity and desire is to gain knowledge for a comprehensive understanding of how to process functional condensed matter. I am mesmerised how tiny structures affect and benefit our macroscopic life. Hence, my final year project is focussed on electrical characterization of transparent conducting thin films (TCTFs), especially, AZO and ITO on glass and flexible substrates. This will also be a great opportunity to get first-hand expertise in sputtering and thin film production.

This unique masters is my first choice, because it combines nanomaterials/nanotechnologies and advanced processes. In particular, master modules like “Thin Film Processing”, “Nanotechnology of Disperse Systems" and “Processing and Functionality of Organic Electronic Devices” will give me a much greater level of understanding, knowledge and acquirements necessary to process and research new materials. With many distinguished scientists as professors/lectors, and the high regard for the qualified education of the [Name], I know that I will gain expert tuition and guidance at the forefront of discovery. An additional attraction are your university’s cooperation with other leading research centres and being part of the Elite Network [Name]. The close cooperate with the[Name] Cluster and the opportunities involved predicts an excellence aspirations.

The modern curriculum and lecture style at [Name], combined with soft skills seminars suits, my personal learning style and expectations. Becoming an outstanding academic not only means adsorbing knowledge, but also becoming an open-minded person able to thrive in a multicultural environment. Hence, I have chosen to move and study in the UK, a completely new exciting environment, which I don´t want to miss during my master in Germany. I see myself as an ambitious and socially oriented person, as demonstrated by tutoring younger students. This experience showed me, how my personal behaviour, especially enthusiasm, can motivate others.
