Letter of Motivation

Goodday All, I was advice to register in this forum, I have a motivational letter to apply for a master program below. I want it to be criticize in its entirety, dotting all the I and crossing all the T thanks.

Dear Sir or Madam, I am applying to your Master’s program in Earth Science with track in Environmental Management scheduled to start in September 2015. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from XXXX University XXXX, XXXX in 2009.

I was an active student during my undergraduate program and had the privilege of being the Assistant Financial Secretary, Financial Secretary and member “House Committee” on finance Student Union Government.

I volunteered to join the Federal Road Safety Commission during my National Youth Service. As part of the community development service, I did a three hours weekly traffic control together with colleagues.

I was hired upon completion of National Youth Service as a Geoscientist at XXXX Associates, a consulting firm. At XXXXX Associates, I was part of a team of professionals and took responsibility for several Environmental Impact Assessment projects in the coastal areas of the Niger Delta. Specifically I was the Geologist in charge of borehole drilling and logging, installation of monitoring wells, development of water table maps, collection of water level data, groundwater sampling and water quality analysis. I also had the privilege of meeting, working and sharing ideas with diverse group of professionals and as well co-authored one research paper.

As an Assistant Consulting Hydrologist at the Center for Research in Water and Environment, I co-authored two research papers. My research interest cut across environmental hydrology, natural resource management, land reclamation and remediation, climate change and disaster management.

Due to the international nature of the University of XXXX Earth Science program, course structure and module, state of the art facilities, as well as interaction with past master’s student, I strongly believe that with my academic background, research interest and work experience make me the right candidate for the program.

I am hopeful that a master’s degree in Earth Science with track in environmental management will broaden my knowledge and arm me with the necessary interdisciplinary skills require to finding practical solutions to environmental problems, deep understanding of environmental processes resulting in enduring results for mankind and societal benefit.

I am sure to excel due to my academic background, interpersonal skills, research interest and work experience. In addition, coming from an international background will add diversity to your program.
