Letter of motivation

Dear Sir/Madam:



I am writing to apply for the xxxxx fellowship for wildlife management.



I graduated in Forestry Science in July,2005 from the collage of xxxxxxxxxxxx. My diploma focuses on general forestry science but I took immense interest in wildlife management.



I joined in wildlife services, xxxxxxxx as a park ranger in xxxxxxxx.
Serving for last five years I experienced lot in wild life management activities. No education is complete without experience. Through my experience I became fascinated with in issues that affect human-wildlife conflict.



Co-existence of people and wildlife inside the park has been sighted as harmony in the eyes of several people. But the bitter pinch of human-wildlife existence is witnessed by the management. Significant number of human settlements with their livestock inside the park has entailed to rising human wildlife conflicts. As of overlapping arises massive conflict within, intrinsic livestock predation and crop depredation by wildlife. For instance, yearly Tigers and Leopards kill 100 to 160 domestic cattle and wild pig damages acres of agriculture field in our range jurisdiction. To curb down such conflict government agency applied for donor and compensated. But instead arises more conflicts. Because of compensation villagers tends to neglect their own cattle in the forest. Money could not solve the problem arise by natural phenomena.



The conflict would be solved only by scientific analysis and giving awareness or educating the illiterate villagers. To come up with scientific analysis for better management the staff require to extent knowledge and skills.



During last five years I also focused on sustaining the high altitude medicinal plants and fulfilled the objective. Highlanders are now aware of sustainability of medicinal plants. The progress was of awareness and conducting training efficiently.

Similarly would like to have same progress in solving the human-wildlife conflict after being attended course in wildlife management.



I am very exited by my decision to pursue for 1year certificate course at xxxxx of applied Sciences. I believe that their approach will enable me to acquire knowledge and skills that will help me to meet new professional challenges



With a solid foundation in academic theory and intensive research gained through the certificate program in wildlife management at the University of applied Sciences, xxxx, I am confident that I will have the skills, knowledge and contacts that will enable me to deal with the complex issues of human-wildlife conflict in my country.
