Letter Writing

Letter of motivation

I am a Dutch citizen and I am planning to study at a Dutch University. However, the programme I want to study at that university is taught in English, so I need to write my letter of motivation in English. Until now, I was doing fine, but there is one question I have to answer which I don't really understand, namely: "What are your interests with regard to (or regardless of) your current education?". I don't understand what they mean by that question, so I hope you can help me.

Thanks a lot Emotion: smile

Regardless of your current education is quite strange - it means discounting your current education, what are your interests...

  • It doesn't make much sense really.
  • I have no idea what they want from you.

I would guess so - it's badly phrased though. 'Regardless to' doesn't really mean that.
