0 Hello, 02br 02br 00could anybody please check my letter of motivation? 02br 00I'm not ready yet - the last lines are still missing - but I must hurry up and I'm afraid you have not time enough to answer when I wait until I have really finished it. 02br 00So the last lines will follow. 02br 00(When I was not sure which word to use, I put the alternative in brackets or I set a / ) 02br 02br 00Thanks a lot, Veronika 02br 02br 02br 02br 00I hereby wish to state my interest for a place in your Master of Arts programme in European Public Administration. 02br 02br 00After graduation from collge/gymnasium in june 2001, I started studying at the college of public administration in Meißen in september the same year. 02br 02br 00During the (its) theoretical semesters we were prepared for the various demands in public organisations (with a main focus on its/their new requirements) through different courses in the three fields of law, public finances and social sciences. 02br 00Especially the subject European Law, in which we learned about the historical background of the European Union, the European Institutions and their functioning, the european legislative procedure and material european law, was on/of my special interest. 02br 02br 00Therefore/on that account I took the chance to attend a voluntary tutorial dealing with the topic “europe in germany” which I successfully finished with a seminar paper as well as I took part in different language courses to improve my english and french and to learn spanish. 02br 02br 00Furthermore two practical terms, where the students could gain practical experiences, built a basic part of my studies at the university of applied sciences / college of public administration 02br 00Besides the training courses in various local and state authorities in Saxony, I absolved a part of my main training course in the European Bureau of Saxon Local Authorities in Brussels from september 2003 till october 2003. There I could apply my knowledge about the functioning of the European Institutions and other regional representations and I could broaden/extend my knowledge about the regional policy of the European Union, particularly about the Structural Funds. My duties during this time were especially to gather relevant information about european events/procedures and to provide them as an article in the weekly newsletter “Brüssel Aktuell” to the regional and local authorities in Saxony. Additionally/Furthermore/ I compiled the current (EU-Förderhandbuch ) This work was very challenging because I had to deal with absolutely/very different (new) tasks and responsibilities, which I accomplished most often in a language that was not my mother tongue. 02br 02br 00The knowledge I was imparted to during my studies and the training course in Brussels demonstrated me the deep impact of the European level on every aspect of daily life and raised the wish/ confirmed my decision to base my diploma thesis on this interesting field as well as professionally work in the european sector in my future life / after finishing my studies. 02br 02br 00Therefore I was glad to be permitted to write my diploma thesis on the topic “The build-up of a German-Polish Administration Network” and to have every support of my professor to suit the action to the word. One of my proudest moments was when I gave a speech on this topic on/at the meeting “Forum Wegzeichen” in Meißen in April this year, which was followed by the decisive step to the realisation of the network, an agreement to establish an incorporated society (e.V.) signed by about 40 saxon and lower silesian employees of administration that are interested in transnational cooperation. 02br 02br 02br 00After I had completed my studies with my final examination in September 2004 and during I wrote my diploma thesis I could practice and complement my knowledge in public administration when I started / by working in the municipality of Bautzen firstly in the personnel department and then in the building authority. During this time I could work independently and gain wide experiences in cooperation with colleagues and citizens as well as I extended my language skills by learning Sorbian, a proudly cherished speciality of our region. 02br 02br 02br 00As it is my future goal to work in the european sector, I am keenly interested in aquiring more theoretical knowledge and practical skills in this area. 02br 00It was also the stage in brussels when I firstly learned about the opportunity to get the masters degree in european public administration from a trainee-colleague, who was a MPA-student at that time. 02br 00Since he explained me exactly? What I should expect from the programm and what is expected from me, I am convinced that the Master of European Public Administration corresponds well with my future plans. 02br 02br 00After I went through the course structure of your M.A. and read carefully the overview and the objectives of every single course, I found out that this is the right programm for me. 02br 02br 00... (to continue) 02br 02br 02br 02br 00Thanks again, 02br 00sunny greetings, Veronika 0-
