Letter of Intent, Shifting Course

Question

Hi! I would like to hear your opinion about my letter intent for shifting courses. And is my grammar correct?

So I take engineering course and stop [2013-2014],i want to enroll again but in other course which is B.S. in Hospitality Management and now i need to write letter of intent for shifting courses,how am i gonna improved this letter?

Greetings! I am writing this letter to ask for your permission to allow me to shift courses. I feel that it would be in my best interests to discontinue my studies on the B.S. in Electronics and Communications Engineering as I am struggling with certain aspects of the course. I would like to shift my course to B.S. in Hospitality Management Major in Cruise line Operations as I feel that it would be in my best interests since this field is what I really wanted to undertake ever since. I would be grateful on your feedback regarding this matter.

Here's a tip that you can use for the rest of your life. If you want help from someone with a specialized skill, then please don't abuse their specialty. In your example, you use "i" and "gonna" and so forth. If I were rude, I would reply with similar type language that would make my response useless to you.

If you're serious about wanting help, then use your reasonable best efforts to demonstrate sincerity.

I am struggling with the complexity and volume of work associated with my engineering degree. With my background and personal interests (or however you want to introduce this sentence), I am well suited to pursuing a degree in Hospitality Management.

If these type of requests are usually rubberstamped, then you're good. If not, then you have more work. If I were Maria, I'd like more detail about why you're not doing well and why you think you can succeed at doing something different. But keep it short.
