Letter of intent for Masters

I am applying for a Master's education starting in September and I am writing a letter of intent. However, this is the first time I've ever had to write one of these. English isn't my first language so I'd really appreciate any and all input, even just a quick glance.They ask me to do at least 2 or 3 pages to talk about my professional project.


Here goes:

Dear Madam or Sir,

I am writing to inform you of my intention to pursue the Master 1 in Finance offered by your school. From my review of graduate programs, and consultation with career advisors, it is very apparent that IAE Toulouse has an excellent finance program. I hold this belief in particularly due to the hands-on learning style, international orientation, high international satisfaction rate and the good reputation that it enjoys.
I have a geniune interest for investment banking, private equity, venture capital, asset management and equity research, and I truly believe enrolling in this Master in Finance would provide me with the right set of skills to be able to go after my career vision. it is an ideal match with my aspirations of pursuing a career within international finance career, computer science, mathematics and entrepreneurial endeavors.

To begin with, I would like to give you my short point of view about the world of finance in France in 2016 and especially for what I'm the most interested in : exchange investment and equity investment. I'm convinced that the stabilization in oil prices (due to) and depreciation of the euro (because of low interest rates, cash and credit remain inexpensive) should continue to support ongoing growth and corporate earnings.

Firstly, I have an interdisciplinary educational stream and seek to combine economy insight with law, politic, acounting, business management, and data processing like Visual Basic and SQL. It allows me to be more interesting in the financial aspect. In the meantime, with my curiosity, I learned things in business acumen and entrepreneurship to form new business opportunities and processes.
Secondly, I have the ability to communicate effectively with people of different personalities and backgrounds. In fact, during working group, management simulation or oral presentation for example, I was able to defend my proposal, while at the same time I listened every group members. Moreover, after a little training I worked as a field officer to know about people habits in Toulouse in the TEST SA company (moving, way of life, and if possible, the income) It was very difficult because a lot of people don't want to talk about their personnal life, so I had to create tricks and improve my communication skills to get my answers.
Furthermore, I can state with my professionnal and personnal experience that I have good analytical skills and a logical strain of thought, which enables me to quickly analyze and solve complex and ambiguous problems. For instance, I like to resolve brain-teaser and play mathematical games such as chess, dots and boxes, and rubik's cube.
I am good in finding better ways to improve processes to achieve delivery of outstanding results. Indeed, in my current job, I created a stock management sheet to apply "the first in first out" concept, I also reorganized the work surface and the production method to reduce the margin. All this skills are essential qualities for success in the financial environment.
Lastly, I'm a pessimistic person, but it allow me being carefull, and taking time to think before acting. However I stay a very ambitious person even if I'm also introvert.

I expect that this Master 1 Finance will confirm my professional choices, which I will present to you.

In the first place, I aspire to be a Senior Financial Analyst, because as I said before, I'm highly interested in venture capital, asset management and I have a strong appetite for risk. For that purpose, I will carry out your M2 Financial Markets and Risk Evaluation, which will give me fundations and the necessary tools.Then thanks to the Master 1 and 2, and the 6 months internship I will build a network of contacts and prepare me to work for a multinational company.
Assistant Controller or Claims Adjuster in an insurance company are great jobs to begin, and more accessible to build my professionnal experience. It will allow me to verify quality of claims process and mitigate risk for the company for example.
Business Controller is the next stage, maybe in IT control (Information and Technology), business planing and cost management. About two or three years later, I want to be able to be employed as a Program cost analyst, to analyze and develop sales, orders, cash and termination liability, funding, earnings, billing and others.
Finally, I want to be a consultant, maybe Senior consultant in a financial consulting firm, and then a Senior Financial Analyst in a multinational company offering years of extensive accounting and finance experience dealing with banks, private and public multilaterals, insurance companies, all over the world. If ever I make rapid progress I could avoid some steps that I listed above, but I consider that I need a margin of error. A good financial analyst have to be open-minded, he must expand his horizons and he must be aware of timeliness. Therefore I will give priority to every offers in the international labour market.

In the second place, I'm going to present my backup plan after the M2 Financial Markets and Risk Evaluation. It is the option to make an other Master 2, but in Management, in addition to my Master 2. It will allow me to mean to be Finance Manager or Project Manager. With this plan, I will be able to counter any possible risk that the labour market is composed, because of my specialities in Auditing, Financing, Budgeting and Managing. Internship and assistant jobs will be decisive. Of course I have a plan C too and it is simple : I try again. I mean, if I'm not qualified, then I will study again, if I'm not experienced, then I will do an other internship.

Finally, I have a project that I wish to share with you. This is the crowdfunding system. It is a method of raising capital through the collective effort of friends, family, customers, and individual investors. From tapping into a wider investor pool to enjoying more flexible fundraising options and reducing your taxation (in France about 18% of the amount commited), there are a number of benefits to crowdfunding over traditional methods. Such a potentialwould normally correspond to an added value.
There are different types of crowdfunding, but I'm interested to use the equity-based crowdfunding because it's the most attractive. It means that any crowdfunding campaign that allows contributors to become part-owners of your company by trading capital for equity shares. This can include being credited in a movie, having creative input into a product under development, or being given an opportunity to meet the creators of a project.
I would like to create a crowdfunding platform even though there is liders on the market such as Kickstarter and Ulule. For this purpose, I have to build a strong community, attract entrepeneurs and investors, and of course create my platform with WordPress for example. I have advantages, I feel comfortable with social medias and computer as I said before, I have especially many friends working in data processing, and friends who want to set up their own firm (Fitness, Tourism, Mobile and software application).

At the same time as my academic achievements I have worked in order to pay my studies, in different sectors : polling organization, restaurant, franchise, bank. I put some of my relevant employements in my résumé, and I'm referring to them to state of my qualities above.

I do weight lifting because it is an interessant sport whein u learn to perfectly know your body even though it is very difficult, and ask ukl I enjoy a variety of athletic activities, such as runing, track and field, soccer and handball, team sports have always been particularly appealing to me, as I value working in coordinated collaboration with others. My athletic background mirrors my high work ethic and ability to accomplish what I set out to do.

I believe that the Master in Finance program at the IAE Toulouse will best equip me to achieve my career goals which is why I am convinced I will excel in the world of finance.
