Letter of intent

Hello everyone)) I want to ask about a favour. Could anybody look through my letter of intent for a Master's Degree? and to correct mistakes if possible. I'm not a native speaker, so need some help. Thanks in advance)

Motivation letter
To whom it may concern,

I am writing to express my interest in applying for the Master's Degree in Global Studies at University *** starting in autumn 2011. I chose University *** because I liked how the programme is structured and the emphasis given to independent work methods, critical assessment, and the opportunity to do an internship or field work.

I am currently doing my 5th year at the ***. The diploma is expected to be received in June 2011 with specialization in international relations and region studies (countries of Northern Europe).

My career aim is to obtain employment in an international field related to development cooperation, integration or immigration processes. Therefore, I would like to acquire deeper theoretical knowledge and skills to manage different projects and tasks in the realm of Global Studies from different perspectives.

There are different ongoing processes in the world such as integration, migration that affect all members of Global community. Cross cultural understanding and the ability to critically analyze foreign affairs issues are a good continuation and extension of my knowledge in international relations.

During my spring term 2010 I lived in *** where I was a participant in *** offered by ***. I attended lectures and classes in an "folkhögskola" in order to improve my knowledge of Swedish. I am sure that knowledge of three languages (Swedish, English and Russian) will be advantageous in obtaining a Master's Degree in Global Studies. In addition, such experience gave me an idea for my diploma thesis. This project work "The role of the nationalist party "Sweden Democrats" in the political life of modern Sweden" raises problems concerning not only the latest elections in Sweden, but also problems of national identity due to vigorous migration and integration processes in the world. As globalization causes the lines between national and international to become blurred, it becomes increasingly important to understand global relationships.

Moreover, I think that my internship in the Russia's representative office of Ministry of Foreign Affairs *** in 2007 enabled me to implement theoretical approach obtained at the University in practice. I am confident that my academic background and my working experience enable me to make a contribution to the ***.
In conclusion, I would like to say that I am eager to gain new experiences and knowledge, and in my opinion, this program is the best way to achieve them. I am positive that *** will give me a proper foundation and will be an excellent learning environment for my professional career.
