Hi I m very new to your formidable forums please correct my letter below. It's very vital for me to write a good letter as I am not a very good english writer.

Dear Professor xxxx,

I am writing to apply for the PhD in xxxx at xxxxx University.

My Bachelor and Master degree is Natural Resources engineering, Wood Science and Industry and I am graduated in 2005 from xxxxx University, xxx. [ www.xxxx.xxx (One of the top universities in postgraduate studies in country)]

During my studies I became very interested in the sustainable development, its principles and associated tools that allow the evaluation of potential impacts and handling them.

Once I have completed my degree, I focused my professional career in "xxx xxxx Organization of xxxx" http://www.xxx.xx since 2006 as an inspector of Environment Protection Department and some other related organizations. In this career a team of researchers and I have to review all Environmental laws and policies, inspect governmental organizations work and suggest solution for probable bivalency.

In these 5 years of working very close to the environmental national and international policies, I felt the conflict between implementation of environmental policies and industrial, rural and urban growth and development, in other words, the challenging interface between physical environmental social processes.

My degrees in natural resources has provided me with the knowledge of environmental science and my experiences in xxx Organization provided me with the knowledge of finding the best solution for both environment conservation and sustainable social welfare.

Now, I feel that the high academic focus of this PhD program related to sustainable development will best prepare me for a future career in the field of applied environmental policies that I anticipate in the near future.

I have visited most pages of xxx department website and I found your research activities more related to my interests and experiences.

So, I am writing to ask your advice about adjusting my research interests to conditions of research fields in xxx department, in order to apply for the available vacancy which I am confident I have the skills, knowledge and competence to join your team.
