Letter by email and postal mail

Dear sir/miss,

Could you please help me on the following:

I am sending a formal letter to a professor that I will send as an attachment (pdf) by email, but I will also send a paper copy by postal mail. In letters in the Netherlands one would note this on top of the letter with a phrase such as 'send by email and post' but I am not sure whether this is common in English, could you help me out on which phrase to use?

Many thanks in advance,

Jo
