As we are becoming more aware of ourselves as spiritual beings, different ways of healing and preventing disease are becoming available. For example, nowadays yoga is very popular. But is it as good as they say? Do we really need to waste our precious time on it?
Firstly, you should know that yoga is known to reduce stress and tension by creating a sense of well-being and calmness in those who practice it regularly. Besides it helps to improve posture by teaching relaxation of the neck, shoulders and upper back, easing tension that can trigger aches and pains in the back. In addition to it, the inverted postures such as the head and shoulder stands, boost blood circulation and therefore improve skin tone .What’s more? Deep, rhythmic breathing, which yoga includes, can relieve respiratory complaints such as asthma, as well as feeding more oxygen to the muscles to boost their strength.
I suppose you know that yoga requires much energy and good stretch, that’s why your body may ache badly after doing yoga. Furthermore, there is no research evidence to support the claims that yoga can relieve any medical conditions. Doctors would need to see evidence to substantiate them before promoting yoga which might in fact be unsafe and harmful for some people to do. And one more important thing, that you mustn’t forget, people who sit at a desk all day need to do more vigorous exercise than yoga.
When you try to decide if you should or shouldn’t do something, you often count advantages and disadvantages of it. So, if you can’t decide practicing yoga or not, keep in your mind that there no such medicines that can give you a chance to bring together the body, the mind and the emotions. Yoga can help you to achieve it. Understand yourself from inside and outside and then you’ll have nothing to be afraid of!!!
