Let/Leave

Would the following sentences be appropriate:

Whatever you do, let him go to the States.
Whatever you do, leave him go to the State.

I would appreciate any improvements. Thanks in advance.

"Let" is fine. "Leave" is wrong as it stands, but you could say "Leave him TO go the States if you wanted". Hope that helps, Rommie PS.
