Grammar

let us water the plants

Grandfather is working in the garden.

Bom and Tob like to work in the garden.

B and T : "Can we help"

Grandfather : How can you help me?

B and T : We can digup the soil; we can water the plant; we can pick up dry leaves and put them in the bin.

Grandfather : Let us water the plants.

Could you tell me what the "let us water the plats" means?

I can guess it as, "Shall we (including grandfather) water the plants first"?

Hi,

Let us water the plants.

It's much, much more commonly said as Let's water the plants. It's a way of suggesting a course of action for the speaker and others.

Best wishes, Clive
