let the breeze through

And one of the things I fret about the most is what to do with the windows. Should I keep them open to let the breeze through or close them to try to keep the cool air in as long as possible?

Hello. I found the text here(http://vancouversun.com/news/staff-blogs/hot-day-windows-open-closed)
I want to know what through means here. I thought it should be move through or something like that before through. I was trying to write a sentence using 'breeze'. Is this correct?
I opened the window to let the breeze ...(I can't complete it!)
