Let him out of (his) sight

Fred tried to commit suicide a month ago. Harry hasn't let him out of (his) sight (ever) since.

1) Is the sentence only correct if I add "his"?

2) Would it be natural to add "ever"?

3) Is the sentence perfectly natural in continuation to the first sentence?

Thank you.
