Vocabulary

let

I am looking for a verb that means to give or let your wife to another man for one night.

here's the context:

He talked John into letting him his young wife for a night.

Thank you

AmE uses "rent". "Borrow" or "lend" (John lends, 'he' borrows) would be appropriate if no money is involved. "Swinging" is slang for married couples that swap.

What about:

He talked John into letting him take his young wife for a night.

'To take' in this sentence will imply in a sexual sense but not necessarily with her consent.

Thank you both. Alan, I think let him take is what I am looking for.
