LESS/LESSER.

I have been taught by some of my teachers that don't forget to use 'er' after adjectives/adverbs.

For instance, She is taller than I.

But a few days after I came across a sentence on internet that said, "He has less money than I"
I wonder why didn't the writer add 'er' at the end of LESS since we are comparing.

Thanks in advance.

There are a few exceptions to that rule, and this is one of them. little, less.

Note also bad, worse (not badder).
