Less ~ wrong word in sentence

Hi everyone, Would you mind helping to correct the following sentence?

Less practice of speaking english is a major reason in china.

My teacher told me "Less" is a wrong word in the sentence. I don't know why?

hey my name is Harsh, according to me, your teacher is right bcoz if u say 'less' then it means in the sentence dat small no. of people speaks english in china but they are good at that. your sentence demands the word ---slow. your sentence cud be:

"slow practise of speaking english is a major reason in China."
