Less strong

Hi

Is this the right way to put it

"This word implies a less strong sense of urgency"

Is there any other word I could substitute for 'less strong'?

Thanks!

I would put the action of "makes less strong" in the verb:

"This word de-emphasizes the sense of urgency"
"This word softens the sense of urgency"
"This word weakens the sense of urgency"
"This word downplays the sense of urgency"
