Less crowded/vacant/empty train

Today it is a Government holiday and I thought the train would be empty/vacant/less crowded at least today and with the hope I came to station (in the morning) but to see the same crowded train. I was not happy.

Please correct my sentence and provide me with a better version. Thanks in advance.
