Lend

If some friend lent you some money. What's the verb to use pay back or give back?
I guess it's high time to pay them their money back.
I guess it's high time to give them their money back.

In the case of lending money, you would use pay back, but like this : "I guess it's high time i pay back her moeny."

To "give back" means "to refund" or "to reimburse (a person)", mainly used when you get your money back when an article purchased is unsatisfactory.
