Oh no, I know the formal meanings of "legit." I am talking about the slang meaning of "legit." Some online slang dictionaries said that "Legit" means real or cool or awesome. And a native user said that "Stephenie Meyer's books are legit amazing." So, I was asking the meaning of "legit" in that context...

Thank you!

If you'd bothered to read the dictionary definition, you would have noticed that "legit" is actually an informal word.

I've never heard "legit" used like that. That's highly non-standard at best.

As the mother of two teens, I have heard it used that way.

It means, more or less, "truly" -- like "many people asked about this would agree; it's a legitimate opinion."
It does NOT mean "cool or awesome".

It can be used for negative things.

He's legit a jerk.
That meal was legit terrible.

(As in "It's legit amazing that anyone can think Stephanie Meye
