Is it ok to say become legends? Thank you in advance.



When he died in 1936, brothers Seljan became legends.

I suspect it's the latter... In which case 'legend' has to remain singular, I would think :
"When he died in 1936, brother Seljan became a legend".
Otherwise, the expression 'to become a legend' sound very much all right to me here...

The confusion, Antonija, comes from saying "he" died - but "they" became legends. Perhaps in full context, it would make sense?

I'd say "the [last name] brothers" rather than "the brothers [last name]." Perhaps that's an Americanism.
