Legend or key?

Dear users,

If I want to include an explanation of a few terms or symbols used in my Excel spreadsheet, should I put them under legend or key?

For example:

Legend/key:

Term1 = abc

Term2 = xyz

Term3 = 123

Thank you.

Both are correct English, but I would say that "Key" is more usual in modern use. "Legend", to me, feels faintly old-fashioned. Opinions may vary.
