legal matter

Hi

Conceptually, it is hard to reconcile a defense attorney's efforts to ensure that false testimony is not knowingly put forward with the attorney's mandate to mount the most cautious defense conceivable for the client.

My question is related to the whole of the sentence: "Am I coming or going?" Emotion: smile

Conceptually = theoretically?

reconcile = ?

Is it efforts to ensure ... mandate

or

efforts to ensure ... for the client?

Thanks

Here is my try: Conceptually, it is hard to make a defense lawyer's efforts compatible to make sure that a false statement is not made by a witness/ witnesses on purpose with the lawyer's command to strenghten the most cautious defense conceivable for the client.

Basically, the attorney will instruct the defendant on how not to say anything that will hurt him, but the attorney can get into serious trouble if the client commits perjury because he thinks that the attorney told him to do so.

reconcile the attorney's efforts to avoid his implication in the crime with the attorney's duty to mount the most conceivable defense for the client.

Right?
