Leftover or left over?

If I were saying 'there were a number of leftover screws and bolts,' would that be correct of should I use the two word format?

I'm thinking the 'leftover.'

Right. It's just like other such combinations like every day. It depends how it's used in the sentence.

These are my everyday clothes.
I wear these clothes every day.
