Left vs left off

Hi, When I surrfed the Internet the page shows (Click here to) "Return to where you left off."
I wonder I just could say "Return to where you left."? What's the real difference?

Thanks.

No. Leave off has an entirely different meaning from leave. Leave off = stop The common expression is 'You should pick up where you left off' which means 'you should continue where you stopped (doing whatever you were doing).
