Left paddling one's own canoe/ left in a lurch

Hi

Would you say that both of these sentences carry the same meaning?

I was left paddling my own canoe. Sam wasn't with me again.
I was left in a lurch. Sam wasn't with me again.

...and I think this one too.

I was pretty much left to my own devices. Sam wasn't with me again.

Thanks,

Tom
