Left or leave

I haven't left the team yet and have launched a new process. Which of the following is correct and why? "I had to launch a new process before I left/leave." Thanks

Anonymous I had to launch a new process before I left/leave. The word "before" is a conjunction there and the sentence is a two-clause one. Since the second clause refers to the past, I think "left" should be used.

Sorry - it isn't in the past yet because I haven't left the team yet. I have launched the process though, so that part is in the past.
