It would be more or less okay with an "ing" added to "see": "Every time I've been there led to seeing nothing."

I'd say it's grammatical, but adding 'only' makes it clearer that it is grammatical. Nevertheless, it's somewhat cryptic with regard to meaning, and it may not even mean what you intended.
